Answer: ExhaustFeedback: If the retaining valves are not in the exhaust position, the brakes will remain applied when the automatic brake valve is placed in Release. Exhaust position allows all of the air in the brake cylinder to dissipate thus releasing the brakes. In addition to verifying the position of the retaining valves, inspect angle cocks, air hoses, and the system for any leakage.
